ADBL Loan Waiver

Agricultural Develop ment Bank Ltd (ADBL), sub-branch office, Khotang, has waived the loans of 5,047 farmers in the district under the government’s ‘Small Farmers Loan Waiver’ scheme. Under the scheme, loans and interest on loans to small farmers who had taken loans of less than Rs 30,000 each from ADBL’s Khotang branch, the total amounting to Rs 1,59,673,000, have been waived. Interest on loans amounting to Rs 29,495,057 of 144 farmers who took loans up to Rs 100,000 has also been written off. The bank said that it recovered interest on loans amounting to Rs 48,87,400.
