Citizen Bank's Bhandari Awarded

Nepal Youth Society, Kathmandu, has conferred Rajan Singh Bhandari, chief executive officer of Citizens Bank International, with National Service Award 2009, recognizing his commitment, involvement and contribution in the development of the banking sector.

Issuing a press release, the bank announced that Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav handed over the award to Bhandari on Saturday.

Established some two-and-a-half years ago with its head office in Kamaladi, Citizens Bank presently operates with 17 branches across the country and has client base of more than 54,000.

As of mid-July 2009, the bank has mobilized deposits of Rs 11.52 billion and invested Rs 8.21 billion, earning net profit of Rs 95.80 million in the last fiscal year.
