Nepal To Turn Into Shopping Stop

The Complex Developers Leaser Association (CDLA) plans to develop Nepali cities into major shopping destinations like Singapore, Hongkong and Dubai.
"We aim to develop Nepal as the shopping destination of South Asia," CDLA president Sakuntalal Hirachand said at a press meet organised to announce that the organisation has representation of all shopping malls and complex developers in Nepal.
"We are currently concentrating in Kathmandu valley," he said adding that their next target is to develop Pokhara as a mall city. "The association will work for the benefit of the people," he added.

There are around 40 shopping complexes in Nepal and these complexes have benefitted the economy," informed CDLA vice-president Ichha Bahadur Wagle. He said that they would work to make the Leasing Act more practical.
According to the members of the association, it will not only focus on benefiting limited complex developers but also work to create employment opportunities for the people. With the development of mall culture in the country, the definition of facilities has also changed. Whether in the field of security or entertainment, shopping malls now provide a common destination for people, all under one roof.
CDLA treasurer Narendra Ballabh Pant said, "The aim of the association is to develop urbanisation along with market development."
