20th National Industrial Expo Begins

"The country cannot move ahead until the industrial sector become stronger," Minister for industries Astalaxmi Shakya said today while inaugurating the 20th National Industrial Expo here at Bhrikuti Mandap.
"Only when small-scale industries get recognition in the national and internation al market, the industrial sector will grow," she added
There are 175 stalls set up by participants from 70 districts. The organisers estimate business of Rs 2 million and expected turnout is 1,50,000 in the five-day event.
Main attractions are Nepali handicrafts, woodcraft, herbal products, agricultural products, Dhaka, pashmina and organic coffee, etc.
The other highlight of the event is 'Outstanding micro entrepreneur' programme in which the winning participant will be awarded with an industrial tour of Thailand.
President of Nepal Cottage and Small Scale Industries Saraswoti Bati said," It is very important to promote Nepali products within the country so that we can compete in the international market."
