National Industrial Expo from April 22-26

The 20th National Industrial Expo will be held from April 22 to 26 at Bhrikuti Mandap here. The event has been organised by the Small and Cottage Industries Department in association with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Federation of Handicrafts Association (FHAN) and is sponsored by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Micro entrepreneurs from all 75 districts of the country will participate in the five-day event. There will be 186 stalls and more than a hundred thousand visitors are expected at the expo that has been organised since the last 20 years.
"Such events are necessary to promote Nepali products as these products are being replaced by foreign branded items," said Shyam Prasad Giri, executive director of Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee.
"Altogether 15 best micro enterpreneurs will also be awarded on the basis of their presentation, business and artistic values," he added.
The winning participants of the events will get a chance to visit Thailand for industrial tour as a reward this time instead of money. The association has targeted to transact business over Rs 2 million during the five-day event.
"Being Nepali one should always give preference to Nepali products and the event will prove to be a landmark for the promotion of small scale industries," said Saraswoti Badi, president of the association. In keeping with the theme - Use Nepali Products, Feel Proud to be Nepali - all stakeholders of the event are looking forward to making it a success.
