Mobile Expo From April 30

Mobile Association of Nepal will organise the second Mobile Expo 2009 at Fun Park, Bhrikuti Mandap, from April 30 to May 5.

"Expos such as these should also be held at the district level in order to make people aware of technology that they can utilise," said Ganesh Shah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.

He added that the government would render full support to development and revolution in the field of technology.

The telecom sector has been facing severe problems concerning connectivity and service quality for quite sometime now and the expo is aimed at providing businesses, consumers and the government with viable solutions to manage these problems.

During an interaction programme about the proposed expo, Kavindra Shrestha from Nepal Telecom Authority (NTA) said that in order to address consumers' complaints, Type Approval procedures set according to international standards should be implemented.
Implementation of the type approval would ensure quality and standard, with consumers without having to face problems.

Nokia, Samsung, LG, Lenovo, Dell, Philips are some of the known brands that will be on display at the expo.
