Himalayan Bank Limited has launched its new branch in Ghorahi which was inagurated by bank chairman Manoj Bahadur Shrestha. Shrestha said the bank is focusing on productive sectors starting with lending activities to small and medium enterpreneurs under its recent ‘Small and Medium enterprises Loan’ scheme. Ashoke SJB Rana said the deposit base of the bank has reached Rs 32.31 billion and the loan poprtfolio is over Rs 24.40 billion. Shrestha added that the bank is trying to explore new areas. “Ghorahi was an appropriate location for achieving this goal and the bank will prioritise exploration of areas for investment in this region.”
