Experts For Digitalising All Sectors

There is a need to digitalise every sector of the country, experts today opined.
Speaking about the importance of ICT in Nepal, Microsoft Swabhimaan 2066 coordinator Subodh Sudhakar Rijal said, "The event has proved to be a sucess and the aim to promote e-goverence system has been highlighted by the assurance of Minister of Industries Asta Laxmi Shakya."
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Shakya said, "The ICT sector has to be developed and the concept of digitalization implemented in other sectors to develop the country in the field of IT."
Around 4,000 visitors visited the programme. Most of them were students who showed keen interest in IT and expressed willingness to start their career in the field of information technology.
"Nepal is between two neighbours like India and China which have developed themselves in the field of IT, but it is still in the toddler stage in this field," said Rijal. He added that there would be accuracy and speed in the working process of the goverment and other organizations with these technologies.
Swabhimaan 2006 focused on e-goverence, rural computing and information security. Around 350 participants from IT colleges, professionals and other people actively participated in the event.
Governer of Nepal Rastra Bank Dipendra Bahadur Kshhetry said both the private and public sectors should work together so as to provide facilities to the common people by utilizing these systems.
The organizers are hopeful about the assurances given by the goverment about implementing these advanced technologies in other to develop the country in the field of IT and introduce digitalization in every sector.
The expo is expected to be a cultivation of latest technology in Nepal in the presence of government and private sectors, Non Resident Nepalis. universities, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), INGOs and ICT experts.
