A team of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) representatives is scheduled to arrive in Nepal to prepare its annual audit report, informed Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) official. The team will carry its study from July 10 16 and will forward the report later, it said. On May, a fourmember team from CAAN had left for Europe to defend allegations against it regarding aviation safety issues and provide information on present domestic aviation industry scenario of the country to ICAO. “We hope that the ICAO audit team will authenticate the information provided during our recent visit to ICAO which had informed it about air safety and other aviation issues,“ the official said. The air passenger traffic in 2012 was four million including both domestic and international passengers, CAAN said. The global air transport system carried approximately 2.9 million passengers in 2012, up five per cent from 2011. -HNS
