UPGRADED EDITION OF MACBOOK AIR UNVEILED


EVO Store, which deals in computer and accessories from Apple, has introduced an upgraded edition of the MacBook Air from the global brand. According to the company, the slim body and ultra-light notebook comes with a wide range of enhanced features that promise better performance and power management. Tarun Bajracharya, director of Evo Store, said they introduced the product to cater to the growing market for light and portable laptops. “We are receiving good feedback from the market regarding the product,” he added. Available in 11-in and 13-in designs, the new MacBook Air features the latest Core i5 and Core i7 dualcore processors. The company said that the processors were perfect for browsing the web, making movies and managing photos. The products that come with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 are up to 60 percent faster and give the MacBook Air plenty of power to tackle games and videos. The product also features updated flash storage, stereo speakers and USB 3 connectivity. The flash storage is up to four times faster than normal hard drives for instant-on performance and fast access to applications and data. Both the devices feature a high-speed Thunderbolt port and two USB 3.0 ports. “The lightning-fast Thunderbolt port can connect the device to even the latest instruments and display units,” stated the company. Besides, the 4 GB memory, configurable up to 8 GB, helps to run memory-intensive applications more easily. The MacBook Air also features a new FaceTime HD camera that delivers high-definition 720p, said the company. Likewise, the widescreen camera can capture images of a wide range of scenes in front of the laptop. The 11-in model features 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and weighs 2.38 pounds while the 13-in model features 1440 x 900 pixel resolution and weighs 2.96 pounds. The laptops support 802.11ac Wi-Fi. With this feature, the wireless performance is up to three times faster than the previous generation of the MacBook Air, according to the company. The MacBook that comes with Retina Display is equipped with dual microphones that support better sound quality for voice chats via Skype, Messages, FaceTime and other services. It also features Multi-Touch gesture in the track pad. The iCloud stores system in the device provides quick access to music and photo files. The keyboard comes with a backlit system which permits use even in the dark. A builtin ambient light sensor detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the display and the keyboard brightens automatically. The devices also feature enhanced battery capacity. According to the company, the battery of the 11-in MacBook Air lasts up to 9 hours on a full charge. Similarly, the power backup in the 13-in model lasts up to 12 hours. “It supports long duration use even when people travel out of their hometowns,” said Bajracharya. An added feature in the 13-in MacBook includes the latest fourth generation Intel Core processor of up to 2.9 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.6 GHz. It is equipped with a 1 TB hard drive or SSDs up to 512 GB that are up to twice as fast as the previous generation. Evo Store has priced the 11-in and 13-in MacBook Air at Rs 112,000 to Rs 155,000.
