SAMSUNG Launched LED HDTV’S In Nepal

Kathmandu, August 16th, 2009Digital technology leader, Samsung today ushered in a new era of flat panel televisions in Nepal by announcing the launch of its new, advanced line up of LED High Definition TVs in the Nepali market. Samsung, which is a global leader in colour televisions and a market leader in the LCD Category in Nepal, is seeking to create a new category in the television market in Nepal by launching LED HDTV series in the Nepali market for the first time.

Announcing the launch of the Samsung LED TVs, Mr Shekhar Golchha, MD, Him Electronics Private Limited stated,” Samsung stays committed to developing technology and products that go beyond current expectations of value, quality and innovation. Our LED televisions redefine the standards for design, viewing experience and energy-efficiency in Colour televisions. And, we are proud to be contributing to and leading this turning point in TV evolution, globally and in Nepal, by simultaneously introducing Samsung LED TVs in different markets all over the world”.

Him Electronics Private Limited announced the introduction of a series of LED TV, i.e., 6 and 7 in the Nepali market. While the Series 6 and 7 are being launched today in 32” and 40” screen sizes. These cutting-edge TVs use LEDs as their primary light source, rather than traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL). Benefits of using LEDs include ultra-high contrast ratios, slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings.

MEGA PICTURE CLARITY: Each of the three Samsung LED HDTV Series for 2009 boast Mega contrast ratios, complements of Samsung’s ground breaking LED TV Engine.

Compared to a traditional CCFL, LEDs produce darker blacks that appear endlessly deep to the eye. Whites also remain crisp and bright with vivid colors. The result is picture clarity that measures up to the natural beauty of life. For instance, Samsung’s Wide Color Enhancer Pro feature lets consumers enjoy a broader color palette. The Ultra Clear Panel further allows the preservation of every detail even in brightly-lit, imperfect viewing conditions. And with an adaptive “Natural” mode, Samsung’s LED HDTVs can combine the recognized brightness advantage of LCD displays with the cinema-like viewing experience of plasma displays by automatically optimizing picture settings. Samsung’s entire LED HDTV line-up incorporates a number of innovative features to reduce motion blur and image judder. All the three series boast Samsung’s acclaimed Auto Motion Plus™ frame interpolation technology to ensure crisp, easy viewing of sports, video games and movies.

RAZOR SLIMNESS: Samsung’s new LED HDTVs offer not only a lifelike viewing experience but break free from the conventional limits of integrating a television into a room’s décor. By using Edge LED technology, Samsung has been able to shave all three series down to ultra-thin depths. At just over an inch thick (1.16 inch or 29.9 mm thickness), the sets remain trim without cutting back on connectivity options and include a built in tuner.

To further complement the svelte design of the new LED HDTVs, Samsung created an ultra-slim wall-mount solution – reducing the gap between the TV and the wall to around 0.6 inches, down from the two inches of bulkier solutions. The ultra-thin LED HDTV depth coupled with the new wall-mount solution allows for a simple installation akin to hanging a picture frame.

DESIGN: In 2008, Samsung created its unique Crystal Design, which uses dual-injection molding to coat a translucent, colored surface to achieve an attractive crystalline appearance. The latest evolution of Samsung’s Crystal design begins with a deep piano black bezel that fades into distinct chrome that finishes as a clear prism along the outer edges (Series 8) or light ruby (Series 7&6) highlights. The intensity of the color subtly changes depending upon the viewing angle, and further accentuates these TV’s slim bezels.

CONVENIENCE: Samsung’s LED HDTVs can connect to a variety of other devices and content with ease. The USB 2.0 movie feature makes viewing videos and photos from a camcorder, playing music from a media player or accessing multimedia files from a portable drive simple. The DLNA Wireless feature in the Series 7 and 8 lets the user seamlessly watch content from the PC without any wires or cables. The Samsung LED TVs come with a built in Content Library Flashwhich includes pre loaded content and lets users enjoy all cultural experiences including galleries, Games, cooking to yoga.

ECO FRIENDLY: Energy consumption in the Samsung LED TVs is reduced by 40%+ versus traditional LCD HDTVs of similar size. LED TVs are mercury-free and lead free, which adds another degree of environmental friendliness and safety compared with other currently available backlight technologies.

While the Series 6 Samsung LED Full High Definition TVs are available in the range between 32” to 40”, Series 7 LED TVs are available in a similar range. “We are expecting our LED TV Volumes to be 10% of our Flat Panel TV volumes this Year”, states Mr Shekhar Golchha, Managing Director , Samsung Nepal.

Him Electronics Private Limited also announced the launch of 3 new series of LCD TVs (8 new models) and 2 news series of Plasma televisions in the Nepali market, today. While the Samsung LCD series 3 & 4 offer HD resolution, Series 5 & above come with Full HD resolution and Crystal Design. Samsung LCD TV Series 6 & 7 come with Ultra Clear Panel technology, DLNA wireless streaming, Content Library Flash and USB 2.0 for watching movies and photos stored on a USB memory card. In addition to offering natural and true to life images, Samsung LCD TVs offer natural sound quality. They are also environmentally friendly since they have lower power consumption and are lead free.

The Samsung 2009 LCD television range is available between the screen sizes 22” to 46”. “Based on the introduction of our new , advanced 2009 Flat Panel TV array , our channel expansion and our innovative marketing campaigns , we expect to double our Flat Panel TV volumes this year.” states Mr Golchha.
