One hundred and thirty new industries and 227 business firms were registered in Gulmi district in fiscal year 2008-09. An official at the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, Gulmi, said the number of people registering industries and firms increased last fiscal year compared to previous years. As per information given by the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, the registration of 13 industries was cancelled until July 15 of the last fiscal year. These industries failed to renew their operating licenses in time. Six hundred of the total registered industries in the district are operating at present.
