LOOKING for a high-end smartphone at an affordable price? There’s good news for you. Pashupati Trade Links, a subsidiary of the Murarka Organisation and the sole authorised distributor of Micromax mobiles in Nepal, is all set to launch the Canvas 4 from the Indian tech major. According to the company, the new phone will cater to the needs of people looking for a smartphones with latest features at an affordable price. It is scheduled to hit store shelves by July 25. “The new Micromax device will offer our customers with premium features at an affordable price. People will get the feel of smartphones costing more than Rs 60,000 in the domestic market,” said Siris Murarka, director of Pashupati Trade Links. According to him, the new phone is being launched in the domestic market targeting college students, gadget aficionados and corporate executives. The new Micromax phone is quite identical to its preceding variant in terms of specifications. Powered by MT6589 quad-core processor manufactured by MadiaTek, the device runs on Android 4.2.1 Jellybean Operating System. As for the memory, the Canvas 4 possesses 16 GB of internal storage capacity along with 1 GB RAM. Users can expand the phone’s storage capacity through a microSD card. As for the screen, the device boasts a 5.0-in HD (High-Definition) 720 x 1280 display. As for the camera, the device boasts a 13 mega pixel camera which uses a Sony camera sensor. As for the secondary camera option, the device features a 5 mega pixel frontfacing camera. To support all its features and applications, the phone is powered by a 2000 mAh powerful battery. According to Murarka, Micromax has focused heavily on the features of this device. “Along with superior looks and technical specifications, the set has got amazing features that is certain to attract buyers,” he said. Its Just Blow feature allows users to unlock the screen by just blowing on the screen. Similarly, the Look Away feature automatically pauses a video when the user looks away from the screen and resumes play after they turn back to it. Also, users can increase or decrease the volume and the brightness of the screen with just a swipe. The new Micromax is also the perfect choice for those looking for a multitasking device. Users can pin any video to the screen and multitask seamlessly between applications. Users can swipe/drag various applications on to the screen, without missing even a moment of the video being played. Murarka says that the phone is doing extremely well in the Indian market and that they have started receiving queries about its arrival in Nepal. “People have accepted the quality of Micromax phones in Nepal. We are relatively costlier than competing Indian brands; but in terms of quality and product portfolio, we are way ahead of our competitors,” Murarka said. The phone, according to the company, will be available in Pristine White and Smoky Grey colour options. The company will be giving away an aluminium flip cover with surface touch technology as a gift with the phone. “It is a transparent flip cover which enables you to use the phone without opening it,” said Murarka. Pashupati Trade Links said that it is likely to introduce the phone in Nepal with a price tag of Rs 32,000.
