Lenovo IdeaPad hybrid LAPTOP/TABLET UNVEILED


The Lenovo Yoga 11 is an ultra-portable, convertible type tablet-cum-laptop which has four utilisation modes—laptop, tablet, tent and stand mode THEMegatech Trade Group, the authorised national distributors of Lenovo computers in Nepal, has introduced two new computers under the Lenovo Yoga series. They are the hybrid laptop/tablet Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 and the IdeaPad Yoga 13. Dil Kumar Shrestha, business development manager at Megatech, said, “The new device is targeted at customers who love to use fascinating new gadgets and want a device which has easy multitasking facilities.” The Lenovo Yoga 11, which the company claims to be the world’s slimmest personal computer, is an ultra-portable, convertible type tablet-cum-laptop which has four utilization modes—laptop, tablet, tent and stand mode. Accor
ding to the company, the device’s 360-degree flip design allows it to be turned into a tablet or laptop as needed, and it can also be switched to tent mode to surf the net and listen to music and to stand mode for watching movies and video chatting. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 features a NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-core1.3 Ghz processor. The device comes with 2 GB DDR3-L RAM and 64 GB solid-state drive (SSD) and is mated with an NVDIA ULP GeForce graphics driver. It has an 11.6 inch high definition (HD) five-point capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Windows RT Operating System. The laptop uses Bluetooth, HDMI and USBs for connectivity and has a high definition web camera for better video calls. Fitted with a four-cell battery, the Lenovo can run up to 13 hours. The highlighted feature of this PC is that it synchronizes with the emails and online information even in sleep mode. The device has five-finger multitouch screen technology and comfortable and easy-to-use keyboard. The company has priced it at Rs 95,000. Similarly, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 features third generation i5 or i7 processor. It has a 13.3 inch high definition (HD) IPS capacitive multi-touch display. The Yoga 13 is fitted with 4 GB DDR3 RAM and 128 GB solid-state drive. It runs on Windows 8 OS and uses Bluetooth and HDMI for connectivity. The Yoga 13 also features high definition (HD) camera for better video conference facility. Like the Yoga 11, it has four different utilization modes. The laptop is equipped with sensors for 10-finger multi-touch screen technology. Megatech has priced the Yoga 13 with i5 processor at Rs 135,000 and the model with i7 processor at Rs 150,000. According to Shrestha, the company offers a one-year warranty on both the products. Shrestha said Lenovo has a good market in Nepal with laptop sales amounting to more than 500 units monthly. “Lenovo products are doing well in the domestic market; and with these new products, we aim to increase our penetration in the high-end PC market,” Shrestha added.
