GO Ford, the sole authorised distributor of Ford vehicles in Nepal, is all set to hold a motor rally. The event entitled EcoSport the Amazing Motor Rally is being organised in association with Party Nepal Outdoors. The rally will start on July 13 at the Ford service station at Swayambhu and end at the Water Front Resort in Pokhara. Aakash Golchha, director of GO Ford, said that the company would be launching the main sponsor of the event, Ford’s EcoSport, prior to the event. “Since the vehicle will be available prior to the rally, we will be offering test drives to interested candidates,” said Golchha. “We are expecting the EcoSport to be a hit in the domestic market.” Potential rally participants have to register by paying Rs 9,999 by July 5. The registration charge has been fixed at Rs 12,000 for those coming to sign up after the deadline. According to the company, any passenger car from any brand can participate in the event. “We will offer free servicing to all the vehicles participating in the event after its conclusion,” the company said. In a bid to make the rally interesting, the organisers have included 20 different tasks, 10 treasures and five checkpoints upon completing each task. Participants are awarded points for collecting treasures and clearing checkpoints. The company has stated that the participant with the maximum number of points will win a trip for two to Thailand. Inspired by the popular TV series The Amazing Race, the rally will cater to drivers who enjoy rallies and love to drive over long routes, said the company.
