DEURALI Janta Pharmaceuticals Limited (DJPL) officially launched a range of new medicinal products on Wednesday. Manufactured by DJPL’s new division named Nirog, they include anti-inflammatory, analgesic and musculoskeletal drugs. DJPL has constructed the new division with an investment of Rs 870 million. The company’s executive director Hari Bhakta Sharma said the expansion plan was guided by its aim to launch new products and enter the export market. “We have introduced these new products considering the growing international market for drugs for pain and inflammation,” he said. According to the company, Nirog is its fifth division. DJPL holds WHO-GMP certification and manufactures 220 types of drugs from its four operating units—DJPL1, DJPL2, Suswasthya and Aarogyam. Its present products are for infection, cardiology, women’s health, infectious diseases and kidney problems. Sharma said the new products would also help in import substitution. The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified company said it had been utilizing only 60 percent of its production capacity at present. Sharma said they were planning to utilize the unused capacity of their production plants and export the products. According to DJPL, it provides direct employment to 350 people. Sharma said they were planning to install a new production plant to manufacture herbal products in Chitwan in the near future.
