NT to start value-added service outside Valley too

Nepal Telecom (NT) is all set to start to start its IVR service 198 from July 30 for the first time out of Kathmandu Valley. The IVR service is used for Fault Booking and Fault Handling of PSTN service. Due to increased demand for the service outside the valley, NT will start the service as a pilot project in Bharatpur on July 30, according to NT.

Also, the bill inquiry service of PSTN phones used through IVR service 1606 will start from the same date in Butwal, Dharan, Biratnagar, Itahari, Bharatpur, Hetauda, Bhairahawa, and Pokhara exchanges. Soon the service will be extended to other cities too, said NT. Meanwhile, NT will on the same date fix the rate for Notice Board service charge. Under this service, there will be no charge for message recorded through access code 1616 in PSTN phones while the charge for notice service through PSTN/C-Phone through access code 1618 will be Re 1 per minute excluding taxes. For the GSM/Sky Phone through access code 1618 the service will charge only Airtime Charge all over the country.

Notice Board Service is a valueadded service of NT under its PSTN voicemail service. Persons using the service can post notices on the notice board and the caller can receive the notice while making a call. The recorded message can also be erased or re-recorded.
