Auditors’ Association Nepal (Audan) organised a felicitation programme to congratulate the four newly-elected executive council members of Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Association of Nepal (ICAN), here today
“It is our key responsibility to represent the 7,292 registered auditors in the council for empowering them and securing the rights and facilities of auditors all over the country,” said new ICAN member Mohan Raj Regmi
In 2011, after the implementation of WTO in Nepal, the Certificate of Practice (COP) of the auditors will be siezed. In this context, the newlyelected members said that they would not only force the council to fulfill their 17-point charter of demands but also fight till the end to secure the rights of auditors. “Despite having license, we are not able to work freely. Tthus, our main issue is to maintain the dignity of this profession and provide full justice to all registered auditors (RAs) of the country.
ICAN chairman Kamal Kharel said, “The new members should set an example for the remaining ones so as to unify all the over seven thousand registered auditors.” There there is need for change in the system and and end to the discrimination that has been shown towards this profession, said Krishna Prashad Poudel, one of the new members. Another new member, Bhuwan Acharya, said, “We will work as representatives of the Auditors’ Association and not as individuals.”
