Entrepreneurs woo Indian tourists to Pokhara


A group of tourism entrepreneurs from Pokhara are busy organizing various promotional programs in different cities of India to attract the Indian tourists to visit their lake city. The team coordinated by Nepal Association of Tours and Travel Agents (NATTA) are organizing interactions and other promotional programs. Kedar Sharma, president of NATTA, said that they are focusing on the possible tourists from Goa and Mumbai. “This is the season of scorching heat in India, therefore we want to lure them to much cooler Pokhara,” added Sharma.They said they are encouraged by the rise of the Indian tourists visiting the lake city as a result of their continuous promotional programs over the last ten years. NATTA has also organized promotional campaigns in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Some 150,000 international tourists visit the lake city annually, according to the tourism entrepreneurs.
