Kailash Bikas Bank helps clean Phewa lake


Kailash Bikas Bank (KBB) has helped clean water hyacinth in Phewa Lake of the tourist down of Pokhara. A cleaning event was jointly conducted on August 16 by KBB, local financial cooperatives, local clubs, Pokhara sub-metropolitan city, the Nepal Police and local people, stated the bank´s press release. According to the bank, more than 200 participants helped clean the hyacinth. Excessive growth of hyacinth in and around the lake had defaced the scenic lake. “KBB initiated the event as we are not confined only to banking activities. We also like to involve ourselves in social activities,” said Gopal Parsad Poudel, director of KBB.
