International Marketing Service (IMS), the authorized distributor for Samsung mobiles in Nepal, is launching three variants of Galaxy Tab 3 in the Nepali market in the second week of August.
According to officials of IMS, Galaxy Tab 3 will be available with 7-inch and 8-inch screen options. IMS is launching two models of 7-inch Tab 3 -- SM T210 and SM T211and one model of 8-inch Tab 3 -- SM T311.
All the three devices run on Android 4.1 Jellybean OS. They are powered by 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. According to the company, these devices incorporate feature like Geo tagging, HD playback, HD recording, and online image uploading, among others.
The 7-inch SM T210 variant sports a 3 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera for video calling. It has 16GB internal storage and supports external storage up to 64GB.
Similarly, the SM T211 has 3.2 MP rear camera with 1024x1536 pixels and 1.3 MP front camera. It has 8 GB internal memory and supports external memory up to 64 GB.
The 8-inch SM T311 variant operates also runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean OS. It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. It has display of 800x1200 pixels and 16 GB internal memory. Its memory can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD. It sports 5 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera.
Officials of IMS said they believe these new series of Tablet PCs will be popular in Nepal as the demand for tablets in Nepali is growing with each passing day. The company aims to sell 5,000 units of Galaxy Tab 3 in the first phase. It plans to open booking for the tablets very soon.
The devices will cost between Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000, according to officials at IMS.
