Gorkha Brewery, the bottler of Carlsberg beer in Nepal, celebrated the partnership between Carlsberg and the English Premier League with a special event in Kathmandu on Friday. Carlsberg and the Premier League have agreed a new three-year deal for Carlsberg to be the official beer partner of the league.
“In Nepal, football is a popular sport and is watched by many. The popularity of Premier League in Nepal is also growing. The association of Carlsberg with the Premier League will definitely provide us a good platform to reach out to the football fans at the local level,” said Phillip Norley, the managing director of Gorkha Brewery.
To celebrate the occasion, Gorkha Brewery played a friendly futsal match with a team of Nepal Sports Journalists Forum at Maidan Futsal Arena, Battisputali on Friday evening. Gorkha Brewery won the match 10-2.
