NT Mobile Service

Nepal Telecom’s (NT) prepaid mobile phone services resumed in Solukhumbu district after a month-long disruption. Even after resumption, the service is likely to face disturbances at night and in the morning for a few days due to irregular supply of power, associated with unfavorable weather, to the repeater tower at Dandakharka, according to NT’s Salleri office. There are 48 batteries in the tower. The charge in the batteries gets depleted by night, causing problems in mobile services.

Currently, NT uses generators to recharge the batteries.
