HAN Urges Quick Buy of New Planes

Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has urged the government to expedite the purchase of two new aircraft along with construction of a second international airport and upgradation of two regional airports.

“The government should focus on preparation plans and policies for the celebration of Nepal Tourism Year 2011,” said HAN.

Air transportation is one of the key sectors for the travel and tourism industry, said HAN. If the national flag carrier’s health is not sound tourism and hotel sectors will suffer, it added.

Therefore, the government should set prioritize developing air transportation and bring effective strategies for the promotion of the tourism sector.

HAN, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO) PATA Nepal Chapter, Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA) and Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) also jointly expressed their serious concern over the present political instability in the country.
