Petro Consumption Gone Down in Eastern Region

Consumption and selling of petroleum products has gone down in eastern region in the current fiscal year. According to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Eastern Regional Office, within the last 10 month, 68 million liter petroleum products have been sold. Some 73 million liter petroleum products were sold within same period in the last year. It is believed that due to Koshi havoc, Tharuhat strike and other strikes by Madheshi communities consumption of the petroleum products deceased. Mukunda Prasad Ghimire, chief of NOC Regional Office said imports of petroleum products in the current fiscal year has also gone down from Barauni Refining in Bihar of India.
